A 5-year-old girl who was in a car accident in Missouri, involving the assistant coach of the Kansas City bosses, Britt Reid, was left to fight for her life in a hospital bed, the photos show.
The young woman, whose relatives identified themselves as Ariel, was seen tied to the medical tubes and heavily bandaged in the images posted on a GoFundMe page following the accident.
“Ariel, who just turned 5, suffered swelling in her brain and bleeding around her brain, did not wake up from the crash,” the girl’s aunt, Tiffany Verhulst, wrote on GoFundMe. “He is still in a very critical condition.”
Reid was driving a white Dodge Ram near the Chiefs practice center around 9 p.m., when he hit a Chevrolet Traverse that was pulled from a highway entry ramp, authorities said.
Reid, who is the son of head coach Andy Reid, reportedly told police he drank two to three drinks and took the prescription drug Adderall.
Ariel’s mother had driven Traverse to the I-435 ramp to help a cousin who ran out of gas, according to GoFundMepage.
In addition to the fact that Ariel was injured in the accident, a 4-year-old child suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The GoFundMe page has raised over $ 123,000 since its launch on Saturday.
