TEGUCIGALPA, HONDURAS.- The former wife of the commissioner from Police, Lorgio Oquelí Mejía Tinoco (a fugitive from justice), was found guilty on Thursday of the crime of money laundering.
Tinoco’s ex-wife, identified as Denisse Yamileth Morales, She was sentenced to two years in prison and fined 50 percent of the amount subject to money laundering, in this case 330,748 lempiras by 78 cents, in addition to confiscating the financial products identified to the convicted person.

Morales was captured by a team of Special operations, communications and strategic support from Attic in the city of San Pedro Sula, after avoiding justice for 16 months.
Confiscation of property
In February 2020, the prosecution asked a judge to permanently deprive Lorgio Oquelí Mejía Tinoco and his family of ownership of 24 personal property, real estate and insured banking products.
The confiscated assets included two houses, three vehicles and six bank accounts of Mejía Tinoco, six financial products in the name of his wife Wendy María Castro and seven bank accounts of his former partner Denisse Yamileth Morales, who was found guilty by an abbreviation trial.
