The progressive group’s poll finds Trump underwater in Texas after the riots

The poll found that at least 51 percent of likely Texas voters said they had at least a “somewhat” unfavorable view of the former president in the aftermath of the January 6 events, with 42 percent saying their views on Trump were “very unfavorable”.

The poll also found that 36 percent of GOP voters in the state would support Trump’s ban on running for office, possibly the most significant break from the former president of his poll base.

Most independents and Democrats said Biden won the 2020 election correctly, according to opinion polls, while 64% of GOP respondents said they believed Trump was the real winner and was thus robbed.

The Data 4 Progress poll surveyed 751 likely Texas voters through the panel’s online responses; the margin of error is 3.6 percentage points.
