Five women from the sports media accused her Los Angeles Angels Pitching Coach, Naughty behavior Mickey Callaway, reporters Brittany Ghiroli and Katie Strang from The Athletic. Callaway, 45, is accused of sending inappropriate photos to three women and requesting nude photos in exchange for one of them, according to Ghiroli and Strang. He is also accused of making him uncomfortable in other ways, including pushing his feet in front of a reporter while interviewing him and telling another woman that he would give her information about the Mets if he were. drunk with him.
Callaway’s alleged behavior was apparently well known in some corners of baseball, as one prosecutor told Ghiroli and Strang: “It was the worst kept secret in the sport.”
Callaway replied to The Athletic in an email, writing:
Instead of rushing to respond to these general statements that have just been reported to me, I look forward to the opportunity to provide more specific answers. Any relationship I was engaged in was consensual, and my behavior was not meant to be disrespectful to any of the women involved. I am married and my wife found out about these general accusations. “
Los Angeles issued its own answer to the story:
Reported behavior violates the values and policies of the Organization of Angels. We take this very seriously and conduct a full MLB investigation. “
Callaway is in his second season as Angels’ pitching coach, but may not keep his job (the Mets fired general manager Jared Porter last month after he was accused of sexual harassment).
Prior to joining the Angels, Callaway served as Cleveland’s pitching coach from 2013-17 and as manager for the Mets from 2018-19.
