Biden is considering revoking Trump’s access to intelligence sessions

WASHINGTON – The Biden administration is considering revoking former President Donald Trump’s access to briefings a few weeks after he left the Oval Office.

White House spokesman Jen Psaki confirmed Monday that President Biden’s national security team is reviewing Trump’s access when asked by a reporter if they will “continue to extend the privilege” of classified information to Trump.

“That’s a good question,” Psaki said. “It’s something that’s obviously under review.”

In the past, presidents have traditionally been given briefings and access to classified information, but some Democratic critics of Trump have argued that state secrets should not be entrusted to them following the deadly siege of the US Chapter.

At Monday’s meeting, the same reporter showed Psaki “concerns among some Democrats” that Trump would “misuse” the information “or use it to get rich.”

“There is no circumstance that this president should receive another briefing, not now, not in the future,” said on Monday, the president of the house’s intelligence service, Adam Schiff (D-California).

“I don’t think he can be trusted now and in the future, he certainly can’t be trusted,” he continued.

Eventually, the decision will reach Biden.

In an interview last month, White House chief of staff Ron Klain said the new commander-in-chief would wait until a review by his national security advisers was completed before making any decision.

“We will definitely look for a recommendation from Biden administration intelligence professionals,” Klain told CNN’s Jake Tapper on State of the Union.

“We will act on this recommendation,” he said.
