The last straw for Tony DeAngelo and the Rangers came moments after he was on the ice for the extra time goal that gave Pittsburgh a 5-4 overtime victory Saturday night at Garden.
Three sources confirmed for The Athletic that there was indeed an altercation involving DeAngelo and goalkeeper Alexandar Georgiev in the tunnel leading to the Rangers locker room. In fact, Georgiev was kept out of training for “maintenance” on Sunday. The alteration was quickly broken.
The rangers did not confirm or deny the incident.
