Emmanuel Macron decides to stop the third COVID blockade in France

French President Emmanuel Macron has decided not to blockade France for the third time, as the country continues to register 24,000 new infections every day.

Starting Sunday, France will close its borders to all non-essential travel outside the European Union. Those traveling to the EU must take a negative coronavirus test before re-entering.

But Macron stopped ordering all companies to close.

“I trust you. These hours we live in are crucial. Let’s do everything we can to slow down the epidemic together. ” wrote on Twitter on Saturday.

France reported an additional 24,393 positive COVID-19 tests on Friday.

A recent poll has shown growing frustration with the launch of the vaccine there and widespread belief that another blockade is inevitable. As of Saturday, only 1.45 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine had been administered. In comparison, Israel had administered 3.5 million a week earlier.
