Rep. Stephen Lynch contracts COVID after two doses of Pfizer vaccine

Representative Stephen Lynch (D-MA) announced late Friday that he had tested positive for COVID-19 more than a week after receiving his second dose of Pfizer coronavirus vaccine. A member of his staff gave positive results earlier this week. Lynch received the second of two doses before President Joe Biden’s inauguration on January 20th. His communications director wrote in a statement: “As long as Mr. Lynch remains asymptomatic and feels well, he will self-quarantine and vote by proxy in Congress next week.” Pfizer told local NBC 10 that its vaccine requires seven days after injection to provide complete protection. Prior to the inauguration, Lynch had also given negative results. Rep. Lori Trahan (D-MA), a fellow Massachusetts representative, said Thursday that she also gave a positive result after returning to DC
