Orange County offers pre-registration for COVID-19 vaccine schedules

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – Orange County allows Florida residents to pre-register online for coronavirus vaccine scheduling for faster enrollment when photos are available.

The dating portal for the Orange County Convention Center website opened Friday (January 29th) at 8 a.m. with a series of new photo meetings, but was closed less than an hour later.

People need to create a CDR Health account to test or schedule an appointment with the vaccine. Once a person is registered, they will still have to schedule their appointment, said Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings.

Meanwhile, staff at four community centers in Orange County are standing to help residents who do not have a computer and / or smart device and may need help signing up for a photo.

Staff at the Holden Heights, Pine Hills, East Orange and Taft community centers will be available on Friday to help seniors register for the vaccine. Spanish-speaking staff will also be on hand.

Dr. Raul Pino, health officer for the Orange County Department of Health, said it was difficult to determine exactly how many appointments the county would make each week based on vaccine availability, but estimated about 8,000 for the following week.

“We have a different number of meetings every day, so we might add 200 to 300 a day,” Pino said. “So I can’t tell you how many a day, but the last time I opened it, which was similar to the following weeks, I added about 8,000 meetings that week. So, the number should be very close to just over 8,000 ”.
