Santo Domingo, RD.
The President of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD), Temístocles Montás, reported that the organization meets on Thursday and One of the points studied is whether to raise a court to reverse the decision of the Senate of the Republic to grant a second majority to the People’s Force in the National Council of Magistracy (CNM).
This decision is being studied by the PLD, after the Central Electoral Council (JCE) decided the order of political parties based on the 2020 elections, which granted the PLD the majority party category with 32.30% and the minority party with the People’s Force with 4.54%. .
He indicated that it isThis Friday, the party will decide whether to bring the case before the appropriate courts or not.
“We in the Dominican Liberation Party, one of the things we are discussing today, is an issue that we have not decided yet, is whether to proceed to raise a new court before the appropriate courts, so that the decision that the Senate in The Republic, which gave the People’s Force the category of the second majority in the Senate, to be reversed “, he said in an interview with Anibelca Rosario Más Cerca.
Montás assured that the JCE decision is what should happen, because the elections are the ones that decide who the majority parties are.
He also said that the reaction of the People’s Force has been understandable since then “They have deluded themselves with the idea of their approach to the government of President Abinader, the alliance they have with President Abinader that this would favor them to be considered a majority party ”.
He also expressed that those who complain about the order given by the electoral body regarding the political parties, must work in the next electoral tournament to get more than 5%, although it is doubtful that this will happen.
“Those who are not satisfied with what they have is to prepare to try to change the electoral situation in the next elections, which I doubt,” he said.
Opposition
He assured that the Dominican Liberation Party gave 100 days of thanks to the government of Luis Abinader, but that Since the president speaks on February 27, the country will see that organization in opposition.
“Starting February 27, you will see an opposition PLD in the Dominican Republic,” he reported.
