The president of the Duartiano Institute, Wilson Gómez, defended yesterday 208 years since the birth of Juan Pablo Duarte the democracy of the Dominican Republic in the face of alleged interventions by international organizations and countries that want to violate national sovereignty.
“Duarte has been firm in defending Dominican sovereignty, you cannot compromise on the problems of organizations. The Dominican people have assumed independence, freedom and self-determination from the beginning and no force, no matter how great, can intervene to affect our freedom and sovereignty, “said Gomez.
Interviewed after the laying of a wreath at the Altar of the Nation on the occasion of the 208th anniversary of the birth of the patrician Juan Pablo Duarte, he added that we were one of the most fighting peoples in Latin America for their sovereignty and therefore we will continue to work for the same. “No one can restrict this freedom and sovereignty,” he said.
Gómez also said that, together with the collaborators of the entity, he called the legislators to approve an old bill that is forgotten, for the immobility of the Duarte Day.
