“Tigres will not be responsible for representing Mexico”

The Argentine midfielder said that for the Club World Cup they will be in charge only with the representation of the feline institution and not of the country

MONTERREY – The Argentine Guido Pizarro, midfielder of Tigrii UANL, assured on Tuesday that his team will not be responsible for representing Mexico at the Qatar Club World Cup to be held in February.

“We represent our people, who always support us, they represent a region for winning CONCACAF, but we do not take responsibility for representing a country,” he said.

The feline team won the qualification for the Club World Cup, winning the CONCACAF Champions League in December last year.

Tigers Participation in the World Cup will begin on February 4, when they will face the South Korean in the quarterfinals Ulsan Hyundai FC, Asian Champion.

“The first game will be difficult because it is where we will identify the level of the other teams. We go with the mentality of being champions, just like in all the competitions we have been in,” said the 30-year-old midfielder.

The former Spanish footballer from Sevilla acknowledged that in the Club World Cup they will face rivals who will always demand a high level, but he is confident that Tigers they will be the first Mexican team to win this title.
