The WHO says the Moderna vaccine is not “recommended” for pregnant women

In a state report released on Tuesday, the World Health Organization (WHO) recommended against pregnant women receiving the COVID-19 vaccine from Modern.

WHO officials recommend that pregnant women not receive the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine unless they face a high risk of exposure, such as health care workers.

“While pregnancy puts women at higher risk of severe COVID-19, the use of this vaccine in pregnant women is not currently recommended unless they are at high risk of exposure,” the official report said. WHO.

The organization did not provide further details on their recommendation against pregnant women receiving the vaccine.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), there are limited data available on the safety of COVID-19 vaccines for pregnant women.

The CDC says studies are planned for pregnant women.
