The Duartiano Institute reported that today it will carry out a series of activities at national level to celebrate 208 years since the birth of Juan Pablo Duarte, respecting the sanitary protocol measures established by the public health authorities.
Among the events is the inauguration of “Radio Patria: the voice of Duarte”, the first station dedicated exclusively to promoting the thoughts and ideals of the patrician.
Wilson Gómez Ramírez, the president of the organization, urged the population to display the national flag today in houses and public and private institutions.
He said it was an opportunity to worship the sacred symbols of the nation, increase patriotic sentiment and pay tribute to the Dominicans.
Gómez Ramírez reported that activities will begin today at 8:00 am with the installation of the national flag in the house of the Duarte Díez family, the headquarters of the Duartiano Institute, in the Colonial City, with directors of this organization and officials of the authorities.
He said that half an hour later a wreath will be laid in front of the statue located in Parque Duarte, on Padre Billini Street, and at 9:00 in the morning a solemn mass will be held in the Cathedral of America.
At 11:00 in the morning, another wreath will be taken to the Altar of the Fatherland, in Independencia Park, and at noon, “Radio Patria: Duarte’s voice” will be inaugurated.
