Microsoft has come up with a patent to create chatbots capable of mimicking a person’s personality. The technology giant received permission for the patent earlier this month, after the initial filing of the license in 2017.

Microsoft’s goal is to create artificial intelligence generated from individual personalities, dead or alive, based on data from social networks, emails and other forms of personal information. The company intends to use images and video data to make its avatars more realistic.

Several start-up companies are already working on a technology capable of creating 3D holograms.

“Our software allows multiple people to be captured simultaneously in different locations in real time,” said Javier Bello, founder and CEO of Imverse. “This capture can be integrated into games, teleconferencing applications, educational platforms, which are built with standard 3D content creation software.”

Bello went on to say that technology companies have been very interested in software because it can be applied in the field of education, telehealth and entertainment.
