PewDiePie announces “Big Change” on its YouTube channel

PewDiePie has announced a major change to its YouTube channel, inspired by things like Corpse Husband, Dream and a growing trend among popular streams on Twitch and YouTube. After a two-week break from YouTube, the platform’s most popular content creator is back. During his return, King YouTube teased a “great revelation.” Following this teasing, today, PewDiePie released a new YouTube video entitled “I’m back with a huge ad.” And, as you would expect, the video is already on trend and has almost two million views. Of course, every PewDiePie upload makes a wild commitment, but this video in particular draws extra attention to the aforementioned ad.

For those who haven’t seen the video, PewDiePie pulls a page from the manual of Dream, Corpse Husband, Pokimane and other streamers and YouTubers and will now hide its identity behind an avatar. According to PewDiePie, he gets rid of his self-oriented camera and does the “reverse face revelation” to remain relevant.

“I realized that the only way to stay relevant right now … is for me to do that,” PewDiePie said, joking clearly. “Corpse husband … no face camera, no face revealed, very popular. She dreams … without a face cam, without a revealed face, very popular. ”

At this point, YouTuber has not decided on a final avatar, but for most of the video, he used a temporary one or, more precisely, the avatar below:

For now, it remains to be seen how permanent this change will be. In the video, PewDiePie asks fans for help finding and choosing an avatar, at least suggesting that the above avatar isn’t too long. Again, however, it is difficult to assess how long PewDiePie will continue to do so. In the video, he jokes clearly and may make fun of the trend, but it looks like he will keep the avatar for at least a while.
