Saudi Arabia has intercepted what they described as a “hostile target” for the capital Riyadh, state media have revealed.
“I heard a loud sound and I thought something had fallen from the sky,” said a resident, Agence France-Presse reported on Saturday. “The whole house was shaking.”
The official media did not specify where the hostile target came from, but the country was repeatedly attacked by Yemeni Huthi rebels.
Iran-backed insurgents have been locked in a year-long struggle to overthrow the internationally-recognized Yemeni government, which is backed by Saudi Arabia.
The Saudi intervention, which began in 2015, has faced international criticism for exacerbating a humanitarian crisis in the impoverished nation.
Under the Trump administration, Huthis was branded a terrorist, something Secretary of State Antony Blinken said he would review in an effort to ease the suffering.
