América is one of the Mexican clubs that will participate in the next edition of the Concacaf Champions League in 2021 and for which they will try not to repeat what happened last year, where they suffered elimination in the semifinals from Los Angeles FC.
America managed to classify this new competitive example for this year, in which it has not yet defined its first rival, but what is already confirmed is the schedule in which this competitive event will take place. The second time in a row when the Azulcrema team will be present at this tournament together with Monterrey, Cruz Azul and León.
Concacaf confirmed this Friday the championship match and some changes that the sports competition will have as a result of the pandemic. Due to the scheduling and travel challenges associated with the virus, the final round program will take place in Miami, USA, on February 10th.
April is the time when the eighth finals of the Concachampions will be played between 6 and 8 respectively, while the return will be next week between the 13th and 15th. On the other hand, the quarterfinals will take place between 27 and 29 of the same month, while the return will be played between 4 and 6 May.
The semifinals of this competition were scheduled for the week of August 10 and 12 in their first meeting, while the second was between 24 and 26 of the same month. However, The Concachampions final will be played on October 26-28.
The clubs participating in the mentioned competition are responsible Deportivo Saprissa, Alajuelense (Costa Rica), Atlético Pantoja (Dominican Republic), Arcahaie FC (Haiti), Marathon, Olimpia (Honduras), Real Estelí (Nicaragua), Atlanta United, Columbus Crew, Philadelphia Union, Portland Timbers (United States).
There is still a team to meet to finalize the final list of the competition that will come out between Forge FC and Toronto FC, both from Canada, to complete the participation table.
