BARCELONA – Héctor Moreno is not going through the best moment in Qatar, and his current club, Al-Gharafa SC, does not intend to execute the optional contract year that the Mexican has, according to confirmed ESPN sources.
The Mexican international came to football in Qatar in 2019 from Real Sociedad. He signed for two years, plus an additional one, the latter being to the detriment of the performance in a few minutes offered in this course and it seems that for a game the contract will not be automatically extended.
Sources familiar with the situation assured ESPN that the club in Qatar does not seem to be very happy with Héctor Moreno, who would receive the letter of release to look for a new opportunity in his career, which happened most of the time in European football (AZ Alkmaar, Espanyol, PSV Eindhoven, Roma and Real Sociedad).
Moreno, trained in Pumas’ grassroots football, has integrated well into Qatari football, offering a good performance, although he has now met the decision of Al-Gharafa SC’s managers not to facilitate his continuity.
