This weekend is for relaxing a little more than we relaxed last weekend. I’m not saying we should collapse on the couches and let out long, light sighs, but maybe we can breathe a little easier. Maybe play some video games. Maybe even space video games.

I’m trying to turn these opening phrases into an intelligent one Everspace 2 pun, but it just doesn’t come together for me. No doubt my editor, probably John Walker, will offer to help shape the pun into something functional, but I will refuse, because I would rather shoot and extract in space. Everspace 2, now in early access on Steam, has all the photos, mining and exploration I want in my space games, without making my headache like the space MMO EVE Online. I like to fly without having to do math. Or at least doing math of my choice, completely unrelated to a player-driven economy or a complex skills training system. Pull the trigger, the ship goes boom. Hatred!
