Anthony Fauci, the US government’s leading infectious disease expert, said he suffered mild side effects after receiving a second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
“I was hoping I wouldn’t be eliminated. I did about 24 hours. I’m fine now, “he said at a White House event on Thursday.
Fauci, an adviser to President Joe Biden at Covid-19, said that sense tired and painful, “not sick.”
Mild side effects are consistent with what vaccine manufacturers have reported in their clinical trials and are signs of the body’s immune response to inoculation.
Fauci received the shot from Moderna Inc. in a public ceremony last month to build confidence in the vaccine.
