Puerto Rico would today be ranked as the sixth jurisdiction in the world to receive more doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, according to a chart published by the Financial Times newspaper.
In data gathered from sources such as the World Health Organization and Johns Hopkins University, Puerto Rico ranks among the United States in vaccine delivery.
According to the graph, 3.3 doses of the vaccine have been administered for every 100 inhabitants of the island.
The positions are divided as follows:
- Israel with 2.7 million doses administered.
- United Arab Emirates with 2.1 million doses
- Bahrain with 0.1 million doses
- UK with 4.7 million doses
- United States with 12.2 million doses
- Puerto Rico with 0.1 million doses
According to the Financial Times, the total number of vaccines used in about 60 countries is now more than 42 million.

“We will not rest until everyone has been vaccinated,” he continued.
Puerto Rico today has reached a total of 82,259 confirmed COVID-19 cases since the start of the pandemic, as well as 1,703 deaths from the virus.
Today, the first three vaccination centers have been launched in the cities of Bayamón, Mayagüez and San Juan, with the aim of applying the doses to public system educators and private schools.
