Andrés Navarro launches his aspirations to the general secretary of PLD

A member of the political committee and former candidate for the country’s presidency, Andrés Navarro, launched his candidacy for the post of secretary general of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD) on Tuesday.

During a press conference, Navarro launched his aspirations to hold the position held by Reinaldo Pared Pérez, who due to health conditions said he would not try to repeat.

Navarro’s proposal is based on managing the transformation of the PLD through a “six-axis or dimensional” plan that is divided into political, organizational, electoral, institutional, technical and social. These axes will structure the content of a strategic plan that will be presented to the Central Committee in the first 3 months of their administration if elected.

“It is not an easy task to transform a 47-year-old organization with a predominant political context, it is a difficult task for which I am willing to dedicate my body, mind, skills and commitment,” said the former Minister of Education.

Regarding the reception of his aspirations in the Central Committee, the former chancellor expressed that he understands that PLD is a completely “democratic and united” party and that they will make the best decision for the party.

Last week, the PLD left open the process of registration and election of members of the central committee of the organization. It also determined the conduct of its internal elections.

In these internal elections, 110 seats will be elected at the national level by the members of the Central Committee and 190 seats at the local level, which will be elected by the chairs of the Basic Committee of the political organization, throughout the national territory, as set out in the Regulations. to this end, the new Statutes, published this week.

The purple party provided the information through a document signed by Cristina Lizardo, coordinator of the Commission for the organization of the IX Ordinary Congress José Joaquín Bidó Medina.
