The director of Migration Colombia announced that he will strengthen the controls for this population, after the discovery of a clandestine party with 65 foreigners.

On Monday, Columbia’s director general for migration, Juan Francisco Espinosa, said that foreigners who are caught in clandestine parties, violating isolation measures and endangering public health will be expelled immediately from the national territory.

“It’s not the time to lower your guard. Covid did not leave and did not distinguish the passports. An endangered person endangers an entire country, so we must respect the measures of local authorities. We will not allow a few to endanger the city and the country “, said Espinosa.

The announcement comes after the National Police reported the discovery of a clandestine party with 65 people (mostly foreigners) in the city of Kennedy (south of Bogota), in strict quarantine for more than a week.

Only on Sunday, police found five units with people drinking alcohol. The events were recorded in Chapinero, Suba, Bosa and Usme. Both the places and the people who attended these meetings were sanctioned.

Espinosa called on the public to respect the decisions of the authorities and to denounce any non-compliance suffered by nationals or foreigners.

According to Migración Colombia, since the state of medical emergency was declared, more than 600 foreigners have been deported because they do not comply with the established rules and pose a risk to national security.
