Everspace 2 launches in early access

The Everspace 2 spaceship’s burglar shooter takes off today for the mission scheduled for early access territory. To continue their space flight game, Rockfish Games split Everspace 2 into an open world RPG. The full game is expected sometime in 2022, but you can jump into the cabin right now if you want to see how it goes.

The original Everspace also went through early access, so this is a familiar flight plan for developers. Now, as it launches for a larger, more complex game, Rockfish says it is waiting to receive fan feedback again as development continues.

“The initial version is good for at least 25 hours of gameplay, while introducing the pilots of the basic mechanics of the game Everspace 2 space combat, exploration, mining, puzzle solving, travel, trading, detailing, crafts, ship customization, player and companion benefits as well as five different ship subclasses for players, ”they say.

Over the early access time, which Rockfish estimated at 12-18 months, Everspace 2 expects to add new content in the quarterly versions. These upgrades are planned to bring more than just everything, it seems, from new star systems to new enemies, ship subclasses, enemies, jobs and factions.

Although it was a game with a different style, Brendan Caldwell (RPS in pieces) says in the EPSpace review of RPS that it was a “sim better than fighting dogs on average”. It was pretty eye-catching, too. The continuation seems to take place in that tradition, if nothing else.

You can find it on Steam Early Access and GOG Games In Development for £ 32 / $ 40 / € 38.
