To date, the Dominican state has signed two agreements for the purchase of two types of vaccines that have been approved by international health organizations to combat COVID-19.
In total, the country will purchase 17.5 million vaccines to be applied to the population. Of this amount, 10 million correspond to AstraZeneca, called AZT1222, which is developed by the University of Oxford and 7.9 million doses of the name AZT1222, manufactured by Pfizer and BioNTech laboratories.
The Oxford vaccine will reach a population of 5 million citizens, and the AstraZeneca vaccine will have an impact of over three million, in a proportion of two doses each.
