Several United States House committees on Saturday began investigating the failures that enabled the entry of a group of armed protesters who tried to prevent Biden’s certification in the Capitol on Jan. 6.
One of the aims of the investigation is to find out how much intelligence services and police forces were aware of the threat of violence and to whom they passed the information on.
This Friday, The Washington Post assured that Capitol intelligence had warned three days before the possibility of the January 6 attack on the Capitol that killed six people.
Likewise, the committees will also analyze whether there was any foreign influence or the weight of disinformation in the organization of the riots.
The House of Representatives on Wednesday approved its second impeachment against United States President Donald Trump, who they accuse of “inciting insurrection”.
It is not yet known when the Senate will vote, although it is out of the question that this will take place before Joe Biden’s inauguration as president on January 20.

The federal government has also declared imprisonment with the aim of minimizing the possibility of a threat to security during the new president’s inauguration.
The security measures to protect Washington DC have resulted in some of the special operations personnel of the unit responsible for controlling potential riots in the United States being assigned to the capital, according to NBC.
In the more than 120 federal prisons, access to showers, phones, or e-mail continues to be allowed in small groups, but visits are canceled and inmates remain in their cells for most of the day.
