American Airlines is the first airline to introduce an easy way to provide negative coronavirus test results and other complete documents required for international travel to the United States.
The VeriFLY app, a mobile health passport that helps customers understand and verify their travel requirements, will be available to travelers starting Saturday, January 23 for travelers from all international destinations.
The American is expanding access to the application in support of the US government requirement that all passengers over the age of 2 traveling in the country from any international location test negative for COVID-19 within three calendar days of departure.
“We are expanding our business with VeriFLY to rapidly expand our application usage and make international travel easier for our customers,” said Julie Rath, vice president of customer experience at American.
Customers can now use VeriFLY to simplify travel from the US to several countries, including Jamaica, Chile, Colombia, El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras. To date, thousands of American Airlines customers have traveled using the app.
“We support the implementation of a global program that requires COVID-19 testing for travel to the United States and we want to do everything we can to make the travel a perfect customer experience. So far we have received positive feedback on the application and we hope that more customers will have the opportunity to use it, “said Rath.
Using VeriFLY
Using the VeriFLY application is simple. After downloading the app from the iOS App Store or Google Play Store, customers create an account, enter their destination and upload the necessary documentation, as a guarantee of a negative COVID-19 test.
Customers are encouraged to review their travel requirements to their destination, including passport or point of origin restrictions. Visit aa.com to learn more about VeriFLY and the airline’s pre-flight test schedule.
About VeriFLY
VeriFLY is developed and managed by Daon, the provider of biometric authentication and identity assurance solutions. According to Daon, VeriFLY offers travelers a safe and easy way to confirm the COVID-19 requirements of their destination.
After creating a secure profile in the VeriFLY application, Daon checks if customer data meets a country’s requirements and displays a simple pass or fail message. This simple message simplifies the process of checking and checking airport documentation before departure.
The app also provides travelers with reminders when the travel window ends or after their accreditation has expired.
