Apple will give up the “Touch Bar” on its next series of MacBook Pro computers in favor of returning to the physical keys, according to a renowned analyst.
MFI-Chi Kuo of TFI Securities writes this week that the iPhone maker is giving up its largely unwelcome feature after five years because the long, thin, interactive video tape above the MacBook Pro keyboards has never become the revolutionary tool in which Apple launched 2016.
But the control keys aren’t the only major change Apple is making to its MacBook Pro 2021 line, according to a MacRumors report.
Future 14- and 16-inch laptops will see a design change that will eliminate the curved edges that computers have worn over the past 5 years in favor of a flat-edged design, such as the new iPhone 12 family.
They will also add more types of ports instead of USB-C to which they have been limited in recent years, which means consumers won’t have to buy expensive dongles to connect different wires and devices to the MacBook.
Apple is also bringing back its MagSafe charging connector after dropping it when it inserted USB-C into its MacBook. On older MacBook models, MagSafe allowed the chargers to enter the computer quickly and quickly using magnets.
Shares of Apple rose slightly on Friday morning to $ 129.39.
