ANAHEIM, California (AP) – Disneyland ends its annual transition program 10 months after the theme park closes due to the coronavirus pandemic, the theme park said on Thursday.
The park in Anaheim, California, said it will begin issuing proportionate refunds to eligible ticket holders.
“Because of the continuing uncertainty of the pandemic and the limitations of reopening our California theme parks, we will issue appropriate refunds for Disneyland Resort’s eligible annual passports and withdraw the current program,” said Ken Potrock, president of Disneyland Resort. statement. He said the park will develop new membership offers for when it can reopen.
Disney officials would not say how many people hold these permits or how much the company will cost this move.
The announcement comes in the same week that Disneyland allowed county health officials to use their parking lot for a large-scale coronavirus vaccination site.
Disneyland closed in March and has not reopened since, as coronavirus values in the county where the park is located have not dropped to levels required by the state.
California health officials have said that large amusement parks, such as Disneyland, can only be reopened after transmission reaches minimum levels, and then the park’s capacity will be limited to 25% and reservations are required.
California has seen an increase in the number of coronavirus cases in recent months, which has led to the shutdown of many companies and night stays in much of the state.
