Congressman Adriano Espaillat has coronavirus after vaccine administration

US Congressman of Dominican descent Adriano Espaillat tested positive for Covid-19 after administration of both doses of the vaccine that prevents the disease.

“I follow my doctor’s instructions and quarantine myself at home after testing positive for Covid-19,” Espaillat reported on his Twitter account.

He stressed that they also administered both doses of the Pfizer / BioNtech vaccine against the coronavirus and tested regularly. “I wear the mask and follow the recommended guidelines,” he added.

He also reported on the same social network that he will continue to perform his duties as a congressman remotely as a representative of New York’s 13th district until he gets approval from his doctor.

The congressman ended his tweets with a call for caution and exhortation for the citizens of the district he represents: “I encourage all residents to follow public health guidelines to prevent the spread of the virus,” he posted.

On December 20, Espaillat received the first dose of the vaccine to demonstrate the components of this process and its effectiveness.
