When the movie “The Sopranos” opens, “Many Saints of Newark”

The “saints” are not marching yet.

After being postponed due to concerns about COVID-19, the long-awaited “The Many Saints of Newark” is finally open for September 24, 2021 – almost a year after the initial planned launch date.

The “The Sopranos” prequel, which is produced by New Line Cinemas and released by Warner Bros., was originally scheduled to hit theaters and streaming services in September 2020, Variety reported.

The mafia film created by David Chase was later rescheduled for this spring due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Named the origin story of the iconic HBO mafia drama – which ran from 1999 to 2007 – “The Many Saints of Newark” follows the DiMeo crime family as they battle rival factions on the riot-ravaged streets of the 1960s. Jersey.

Young Tony Soprano will be played appropriately by Michael Gandolfini, the similar son of the late James Gandolfini, who played Soprano for adults in the iconic HBO series.
