Pared Pérez will no longer be general secretary and is retiring from the PLD PC

Former President of the Senate of the Republic, Reinaldo Pared Pérez, told the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD) that he does not aspire to repeat his post as secretary general of the former official party, because his health conditions would make it difficult for him to carry out that work.

The information was given by journalist Julio Martínez Pozo on the radio program Zol de la Mañana, which is broadcast on 106.5 FM, which read the letter sent by Pared Pérez to the PLD authorities.

“My health has been too affected by what the train of my activities and actions that I have always carried out personally, politically and professionally had to decrease considerably, limiting practically to zero” says the letter sent by Pared Pérez and read by Martínez Pozo during the broadcast of the program.

In that document, the general secretary of that party still requested his exclusion from the political committee for the same reasons, asking to be left alone in the central committee, because he intends to continue being a militant of the PLD.

The PLD activist was diagnosed with esophageal cancer early last year.

Recently, you can see a photo of Pared and former President Leonel Fernández, showing a considerable decrease in body weight.

In a statement to his party, he himself confirmed that he had lost about £ 25 during the convalescence and recovery process.

The PLD is currently in the elective part of the Congress Joaquín Bido Medina whose goal is to “renew” the party’s bases.
