Zion Williamson enters NBA health and safety protocols, will not play against LA Clippers

Zion Williamson will miss Wednesday night’s game against the LA Clippers in accordance with the league’s health and safety protocols, the New Orleans Pelicans announced Wednesday afternoon.

The Pelicans traveled to Los Angeles on Tuesday, after they had to start a seven-day trip to Dallas on Monday. However, the game was postponed due to positive COVID-19 cases and the pursuit of contracts with the Mavericks.

It was unclear whether Williamson would miss more than Wednesday night’s game.

New Orleans has not added any other players to its injury report. Pelicans were already willing not to have Lonzo Ball (bilateral tendinopathy of the knee), while Eric Bledsoe was listed as doubtful (irritation to the right eye) and JJ Redick as probable (tightness in the right hamsters).

Williamson has an average of 21.9 points in 55.7% shooting and 8.1 rebounds in nine games this season. This is the first game you will miss this season.
