After discovering a body with a sign that listed him as the person responsible for the death of three Puerto Rican police officers in a shooting that took place yesterday in Carolina, the authorities managed to identify him.
The body, which was found in San José Street, at the intersection with Muñoz Rivera, Santurce, was identified by relatives as David Emanuel Rivera Batiz, 25, from Ponce.
Authorities have not confirmed that this case is related to that of the police officers who died yesterday.

Agents from the Homicide Division of the San Juan Criminal Investigation Corps along with the prosecutor on duty investigated the events.
This morning, the designated commissioner of the Puerto Rico Police Bureau, Antonio López, confirmed the discovery of the body. In an interview with Radio Isla, the official said that: “we must first check to see if it is the same person.”
The written message placed next to the body reads: “I am responsible for killing the guard … Here he is.”
