The first building of the National Parking Plan will begin

The Ministry of Public Works and Communications announced on Tuesday the construction of five public parking buildings both in the national district and in Santiago.

The director of Parqueate RD, José Cedeño, explained that the offers for constructions will take place “immediately”, so that the buildings will be ready this year.

Deligne Ascención, Minister of Public Works, explained that four will be built in the national district and one in Santiago, due to the increase of the fleet of vehicles in those boundaries, as part of the National Parking Plan for public use in the Dominican Republic and that together they will add 2,109 vehicle parking units.

The first of them would open between June and July, the first will be the completion of the Atarazana car park, with 4 levels, located on Vicente Celestino Duarte Street, in the Colonial Zone, with an area of ​​2,000 square meters. It will have 52 parking spaces per level and 208 in total. According to Cedeño, this would be the first car park to be inaugurated, as the construction has been going on for more than 4 years and is already at 80%.

The new parking buildings, which will begin construction this year in the Capital and Santiago, include two five-story buildings each in the Centro de los Héroes.

The second will be built on a plot of land of the Supreme Court of Justice with an area of ​​2,743.94 square meters, located behind the parking lot of the Ministry of Labor. It will have 60 parking spaces per level, for a total of 298.
