ORLANDO, Fla. – Florida saw the highest number of new cases for 2021 on Thursday, after the Florida Department of Health reported nearly 20,000 new cases of COVID-19.
As cases continue to rise, Floridians are eager to receive a vaccine as soon as possible.
Vaccines continue to find their way into the arms of Floridians across the country. As more doses expired, Governor Ron DeSantis urged churches and other locations to start administering vaccines.
DeSantis on Monday announced changes to the state’s vaccine distribution plan, saying hospitals must use the fires as soon as possible and are working with worship centers to help distribute the vaccine. The governor did not mention Publix on Monday during two press conferences, but on Tuesday, DeSantis made the announcement at a Publix supermarket in Ocala.
According to Publix.com, a limited number of vaccines are “about to select Publix pharmacies in Citrus, Hernando and Marion counties.”
According to the site, 11 locations in Marion County, eight stores in Hernando County and three locations in Citrus County will provide photos.

DeSantis held several press conferences on Thursday and said several vaccines were underway.
The governor said Florida is expected to receive about 250,000 new doses of COVID-19 vaccine next week, which will be split in half between Moderna and Pfizer photos.

Cases
The Florida Department of Health reported 19,473 new cases on Thursday, bringing the state total to 1,429,722 cases since March.

Florida reported 170 new virus-related deaths on Thursday. This means that at least 22,817 people have died from coronavirus in the state, including 336 nonresidents who died in Florida.
hospitalization
As of Thursday, there were currently 7,335 people with the virus hospitalized in Florida, according to the State Agency for Health Care Administration.
Since March 64,704 People have been hospitalized in Florida after complications caused by coronavirus. This number includes 383 patients who were recently hospitalized because of the virus, according to the daily report of the health department.
Positivity rate
The percentage of positive results varied from 8.03% to 23.28% in the last two weeks and was 11.60% on Wednesday.
Health officials say the rate should remain between 5% and 10% to prove that a community has control over the virus and fights infections.
vaccinations
The Florida Department of Health recently began launching a daily report on statewide COVID-19 vaccines. As of Thursday afternoon, 384,223 people had been vaccinated in Florida.
