The National Institute of Housing (INVI) has become the Ministry of Housing and Buildings, while the Ministry of Public Works will be used only for infrastructure, as recommended by specialists and international organizations.
The information was given by President Luis Abinader at a press conference with representatives of his economic team and several ministers.
The Minister of the Presidency, Lisandro Macarrulla, assured that “the process of liquidation and restructuring of some state institutions is going well”.
He said that next week a second group of about 50 works will go from OISOE (State Works Supervision Bureau), an entity that will disappear, to Public Works.
He added that the other institutions are making adjustments so that everything is within the law. He indicated that for the first quarter of this year, their liquidation process is over.
Direction
The current director of the National Institute of Housing (INVI), Carlos Bonilla, and the team of professionals who made up the current leadership, would lead the new Ministry of Housing and Buildings.
