German Health Minister Jens Spahn urged people in the country to be patient about the speed of launching the coronavirus vaccine.

Spahn, speaking at a news conference on Wednesday, said the first step was to vaccinate all those in need of care and the elderly in the country.

He said nearly 400,000 people in Germany had been vaccinated so far.

Figures from the Robert Koch Institute, the national agency for disease control and prevention, show that 367.331 vaccinations were given, 150,000 in nursing homes and about 176,000 medical staff were shot.

Germany lags behind Britain, which has vaccinated around 1.3 million people starting Tuesday. But it is in front of France, which has also drawn criticism about a slow start to its vaccination launch, managing 516 photos by January 1st. his health minister. Italy has so far managed almost 250,000 vaccinations.

Spahn added that these were reliable days for Germany.

But he also said that he understood the impatience of the population.

The truth is that the vaccine is a rare commodity worldwide, “he said.

“That’s why we have to ask for a lot of patience from the population,” Spahn said, explaining that the situation was no different in the wider European Union or not.

Spahn said the reason for the launch speed was due to limited production capacity.

The good news is: there will be enough vaccine in Germany, “he said.

Spahn said he hopes to be able to give everyone a vaccine in the summer.

“Today we expect a second authorization for the Modern Vaccine,” he said, referring to a pending decision by the European Medicines Agency on the Modern Vaccine on Wednesday.

“We hope that the delivery of the Modern vaccines will start at the beginning of next week.”
