Sandra Scully, the wife of Hall of Fame announcer Vin Scully, died Sunday night from complications from a long battle with ALS, the Los Angeles Dodgers announced. He was 76 years old.
Sandra Scully leaves behind a large family that includes six children, 21 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She and Vin Scully have been married for 47 years.
Vin Scully, 93, worked for 67 years as a play-by-play announcer for the Dodgers before retiring at the end of the 2016 season.
In a statement, Dodgers CEO Stan Kasten wrote that Sandra Scully was “Vin’s biggest fan and was always there to support him lovingly at Dodger Stadium until the battle with ALS began. She was really the rock. of Vin and the Scully family, and that will make him miss him. “
