The Ministry of Interior and Police announced this Sunday that from January the members of the National Police will receive a salary increase, which varies between 10 and 40%, with the highest percentage being the lowest ranking.
“A regular who previously earned RD $ 10,150.42 will now earn RD $ 14,210.59; one of $ 11,600.38 RD reaches $ 16,240.53 RD; a sergeant goes from $ 13,050.73 RD to $ 18,271.02 RD; a sergeant major goes from $ 14,300.98 RD to $ 19,306.32 RD, and the cadets from $ 12,500.56 RD to $ 16,250.73 RD ”, the institution’s statement explained.
In addition to the salary increase, there is also the benefit free passage on the Metropolitan Office of Bus Services (OMSA) buses, the Santo Domingo subway and the cable car.
To this is added the Medical Insurance, which from a basic plan of the National Health Insurance (Senasa), the over 39,000 police officers were affiliated with the complementary maximum.
Similarly, police now have facilities to buy food at a reduced price through the National Price Stabilization Institute (INESPRE).
In the above-mentioned document, the Minister of Interior and Police, Jesús “Chu” Vásquez Martínez, stated that these actions “reaffirm their commitment to continue their efforts to meet the necessary requirements for all officers”.
