Colonel who threatened to arrest members of the press during the extinction

The National Police announced this Sunday the dismissal of Colonel Neris Aguiar, who was the commander of the Boca Chica municipality, after leaking a sound in which he declared that he would arrest the members of the press during the nest.

“Journalism professionals are important people in our society, because through their valuable work they manage to keep citizens informed, so we will not allow abuse or disrespect for this valuable position,” says part of the statement of the military institution.

They also reported that the officer is being investigated by the Inspectorate General.

“In no case will we tolerate any member of ours who does not prevent the representatives of the media from carrying out their activity,” the entity said in the aforementioned document.

In the sound mentioned above, Aguiar could be heard indicating that it was not enough for journalists, photographers and cameramen to identify themselves with their media license, but that they needed the government’s transit permit.

In addition, he said they needed a physical document setting out the activity they would cover during off-peak hours.
