Optimal diesel price increases; the other fuels for general consumption keep their price

The Ministry of Industry, Trade and Mipymes (MICM) announced that for the week of January 2-8, 2021, the prices of fuels for general consumption, excluding optimal diesel, will remain unchanged.

Regular diesel is sold for 167.80, while Optimum diesel will be sold at 179.80, for a slight increase from 1.30 per gallon. Liquefied petroleum gas comes at 122.70 pesos per gallon, and natural gas retains its price of 28.97 per cubic meter.

The reference crude oil from the United States did not show much variation from the previous week in recent days, which has a direct impact on the local market.

For this reason, the MICM has ordered that from next Saturday regular gasoline is sold for 203.90 and premium for 217.20.

Another fuel that maintained its price was Avtur, which will retail at $ 128.40 a gallon.

However, they increased the kerosene to RD $ 153.50 per gallon, an increase of RD $ 0.50 per gallon; Fuel Oil # 6, which will be sold for RD $ 112.10, RD $ 1.10 more per gallon, and Fuel Oil 1% at RD $ 125.80, up from RD $ 0.30 per gallon.

Likewise, this entity reported that the state borne the costs vis-à-vis the importers, which equates to approximately RD $ 68 million pesos.

The information was shared by Deputy Minister of Internal Trade, Ramón Pérez Fermín, who stressed that this increase was due to “instability in international markets, the season of a harsh winter and the uncertainty caused by the health crisis. “

In addition, Pérez Fermín confirmed that the previous government had left an accumulated debt with fuel importers of approximately RD $ 2.452 million pesos.
