CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Despite warnings from Corpus Christi City Manager Peter Zanoni and the Corpus Christi Police Department about cracking down on illegal fireworks, it was another sleepless night for many Corpus Christi residents.
A resident of Austin, who is visiting the family in the Molina neighborhood, recorded a massive fireworks display on the porch in front of his mother’s house.
Hundreds of illegal fireworks can be seen disappearing in the short video that Maria de la Luz Martinez recorded with her mobile phone in block 4300 of Barrera Drive.
She tells KRIS 6 News that it has become an annual tradition of watching illegal fireworks on New Year’s Eve.
Many other residents of Molina also went out last night to watch the illegal display put up by their neighbors.
