Saints Alvin Kamara happy to help fantasy or charity managers in New Orleans

METAIRIE, La. – The historic New Orleans Saints Christmas show, Alvin Kamara, is a gift he continues to offer.

Kamara’s six NFL touchdowns came at the perfect time for fantasy football managers who used him in their league week lineups. And many of these grateful fantastic managers, in turn, paid her with donations in honor of Kamara to a charity she supports.

The son of a Saint, an organization that guides boys who have lost their fathers to death or imprisonment, said he has so far received $ 21,000 from nearly 400 donors.

“We are especially grateful to Alvin for choosing the Son of a Saint as his charity of choice,” said Bivian founder “Sonny” Lee III, the son of Defensive Speaker Bivian Lee. “As an organization, we are 10 years old at the midnight strike, so this makes the generosity even more significant as we start 2021.

“As we grow to 200 enrolled boys, generous donations like these allow us to be more impactful and fulfill our mission. I want to thank Alvin Kamara and everyone who has donated so far.”

Kamara totaled 56.2 points in the ESPN PPR (points per reception) leagues, the fourth highest player in a game in the last 20 seasons. He jokingly said that he is well aware when fantasy managers are dissatisfied with his performance, so he liked to see this answer.

“People are strong in connection with this fantastic football all year round. … I don’t even want to echo things they’ve sent and posted on Twitter, things like that. But it’s good to see that people keep their word and are willing to donate, “Kamara said.” I don’t know how much you play fantasy football; I never played it. … But it will go to a good organization. I am only blessed to be able to help the Son of a Saint at the same time. . “

Kamara, who was named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week for the first time in his career – among which he won other honors – in the last week, said he did not spend much time staying on top of his performance.

“I’ve been blessed to be able to do this in a city I love with a team I love. It’s cool,” he said. “But I’m completely honest – I always look at the next one, what else can I do. That’s what I’m looking for … As a team, I think we have a lot more to achieve.

“I don’t want to downplay it and make it look like it wasn’t a great achievement, because it was. I was happier just sharing it with everyone, like Drew [Brees] excited and Sean [Payton] excited and all those excited guys. “

The Saints (11-4) won their fourth consecutive NFC South title with a 52-33 victory over the Minnesota Vikings in Week 16. They still have an outside chance at No. 1 in the NFC if they win the Carolina Panthers final – – but would have it needs both the Chicago Bears to beat the Green Bay Packers and the Seattle Seahawks to beat the San Francisco 49ers. The Saints would win first place in a three-way tie with the Packers and Seahawks thanks to a better conference record.
