Actor Marcus D’Amico, remembered by fans for playing in Superman 2, the boy who asks General Zod to forgive his father, died at the age of 55 at his home in England, Europa Press reported.
D’Amico, who also starred in the cult series San Francisco Stories, died on December 16 of pneumonia, Variety reports. His acting credits also included minor roles in Stanley Kubrick’s Metal Jacket and The Alienist, a TNT series.
“Not only have I lost my handsome brother, but the world has lost an incredibly talented actor and director. Words can’t express how much I miss him,” the performer’s sister, Melisa D’Amico, wrote on the social networks.
D’Amico was born on December 4, 1965 in Frankfurt, Germany, but soon moved to the United Kingdom. In his long career, which began as a child in Superman 2, he won a nomination for Best Actor at the Oliver Awards for his performance in the play Angels in America. He also won a theater award in 1995 for his performance An Inspector Appeals.
