Tom Hanks reveals that he shaved his head for a role and is not happy

The 64-year-old actor (very short) revealed his new look during an appearance on Tuesday at “The Graham Norton Show”.

Hanks visibly wore a baseball cap for most of the look. At one point, he explained that he is currently in Australia filming Baz Luhrmann’s upcoming biography of Elvis Presley, in which he plays Presley’s manager, Colonel Tom Parker.

“Let me show you the horrible haircut I need to have to portray Colonel Tom Parker,” Hanks said, as he did his best to hide his unfortunate haircut. “Check this horrible … See this? Look at that thing?”

Then, for about a second, Hanks sank and pointed to his hairless scalp. If you blinked, you may have missed it.

But judging by the shouts heard by the audience, everyone saw.

“I just scared the kids. I want to apologize,” Hanks said.

Although the bald look on Hanks was a surprise for many of his fans, it is not the first time the actor has this look.

Before the coronavirus pandemic began (and before he and his wife, actress Rita Wilson, were diagnosed with the virus), Hanks was in Australia doing pre-production work for the same film.
In April, he appeared on “Saturday Night Live” at home and explained what was happening to his hair – or lack thereof.

“Don’t worry now, don’t be afraid,” he told the audience. “This shaved head was just for a movie and my hair grows very slowly. It saves time in the shower, so I don’t know maybe we should all do it, right?”
