The start of the Green Bay Packers, AJ Dillon, appeared Sunday night to a national audience, with a fight show against the Tennessee Titans in a snowy Lambeau Field.
Dillon, the Packers’ second-round pick, rushed 21 times for a career-high 124 yards and his first two touchdowns in the NFL during Green Bay’s 40-14 victory over the Titans. His first score came in fourth down and ran 30 yards, putting the Packers 33-14 in the second half. His second involved a moment of beating over a defensive line on the way to the end zone, delivering the dagger in the fourth quarter.
The victim of the late destruction of the rookie was the defensive defender of the Titans, Matt Dickerson, who was run over by Dillon while trying to throw a block near the goal line.
According to Pro Football Focus, Dillon broke nine approaches, averaging over 4.4 meters after contact, and contributed seven runs that ended in touchdowns or first downs.
Dillon became the first Packers rookie to rush at least 120 yards and score at least two heavy touchdowns in a game in team history. He is only the 12th NFL debutant in 2015, rushing 120 yards and scoring at least two touchdowns in a single game.
