FIFA 21 claims number 1 in Assassin’s Creed | Graphics in the UK box

FIFA 21 returned to the first place in Great Britain, after missing last week the coveted position no. 1 for Christmas.

EA’s football game increased in sales by 8% only in terms of physical copies in the box.

This means that last week’s number 1, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, falls to number 2 after a 21% drop in weekly sales. Given that the schedule takes place over the Christmas period, it is not at all surprising to see that sales fall for most games. Animal Crossing: New Horizons rises to number 3, despite sales falling by 20% weekly, while Mario Kart 8: Deluxe jumps to number 4, despite a decrease of 8%. To conclude the Top Five, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War drops from number 2 to number 5, after a 42% reduction in sales.

December’s new version, Cyberpunk 2077 of CD Projekt, drops to 8th after a 57% drop in sales. Remember, all of this is based solely on sales of physical games.

Other games that make up the Top Ten include Spider-Man Miles Morales for PS4 and PS5 (which holds the number 6 after a 31% drop in sales), Just Dance 2021 (with a place up to number 7, despite a slide of 28% ), Super Mario 3D All-Stars (up to one to number 9 with sales down 25%) and Minecraft on Switch (up to one after 10 after a 26% drop in sales).

Just Dance 2021 was a real success for Ubisoft. It is now just a week away from taking over Watch Dogs Legion as the second largest publisher game of the year (behind Assassin’s Creed Valhalla), and its sales after seven weeks have increased by 35% compared to Just Dance 2020 in the same period.

Meanwhile, Mario Kart 8: Deluxe has enjoyed the biggest year so far. The Nintendo Switch game has consistently sold better and better every year since it was released, which was far back in 2017.
