The Pope names a special year dedicated to the Family

Pope Francis has called for a special year dedicated to the family, which will begin on March 19 and end with the World Meeting of Families scheduled in Rome for June 2022.

During the messages before the Angelus prayer held in the library and not in St. Peter’s Square, because Italy is limited by the health emergency, Francis explained that this year dedicated to the family takes place on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of the apostolic exhortation “Amoris laetitia”, the publication after the synod dedicated to this subject.

“This special year will be an opportunity to deepen the content of the document Amoris laetitia, through proposals and pastoral tools, which will be made available to ecclesial communities and families, to accompany them on their journey,” added Francisco.

The Pope invited all Catholics “to join the initiatives that will be promoted during the year and which will be coordinated by the Department for the Laity, Family and Life.”

“The Virgin Mary, to whom we now turn with the Angelus prayer, to get families around the world to feel more and more fascinated by the evangelical ideal of the Holy Family, so that it becomes the dough of a new humanity. and a concrete and universal solidarity “, he concluded.
